Hello, Jekyll!

As part of the recent major updates, I’ve decided to migrate my blog to Jekyll. Given the often long time span between my posts, I would sometimes miss critical WordPress security patches, leaving my site vulnerable to attack. Fortunately, no exploits found their way into my blog. Since Jekyll sites are static, there are no server-side scripting exploits (other than potential exploits in the web server file hosting layer). Therefore its low maintenance suits my needs for this site better than WordPress. However, this also means that commenting will not be available natively. I might look into something like Disqus or rolling my own system to embed dynamic comments into the static pages via JavaScript.

Thanks, WordPress, for six awesome years of dedicated service!
